The Blue Armoured Door

She was sitting in front of the closed blue armoured door. She has been sitting there for the last twenty years. Yes, TWEENTY YEARS.

How someone can sit in front of a closed door so long without opening it? She knew what was behind the door and this was frightening her more than anything. Her broken heart has been hidden there long time ago. That day of August, when she found the letter her boyfriend was writing to another girl, she felt her heart smashing into millions pieces. Never again, she said to herself. Never again she would fall in love. And she imprisoned the bleeding heart behind an armoured door.

And to make sure nobody will open it she kept guarding the door, day and night, vigilantly. Nobody could approach the blue door. And nobody could ever imagine this kind of thing happened to her and nobody could ever get too close to her. Her attitude made almost everybody think she was distant and cold. Only her closest friends were allowed to get a glimpse of who she really was. And she didn’t care what Everybody could think of her.

One day, after twenty years, she looked at the blue door and wondered for a second ‘what if’. Then she looked around and just couldn’t decide if the door would stay like that forever. ‘Maybe one day I will open it again, she thought, a day in August to break the spell, who knows?’

Samsung Galaxy Note 7, Forbidden on Planes

Talking to people around me made me aware of the fact not so many of us know the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is not allowed on planes. Not even if this is off. The battery of this mobile catches fire easily. This of course makes the model banished from planes. So, make sure you don’t have one on you, or boarding will be denied to you. The rule is already effective. Please see the complete list of Star Alliance companies and get in touch if you fly with one of them http://www.staralliance.com/fr/member-airlines Also, get in touch with any other company which operates flights from Geneva Airport.

Yet, Geneva Airport authorized the company to run a stand in the airport starting with 22 October, then every day from 6AM to the last departure, on the check-in floor, next Geneva Assistance desk. Passengers will be able to get a phone and, if you have enough time, transfer your data to the new device.

I wish you a pleasant and safe flight!

Je vous souhaite un agréable vol,

Dan

The Places Where People Show Their Real Face

What place would you describe as a gold-mine for story telling?

Personally, I find railway stations and airports as some of the most inspiring places for stories to be told. Well, someone who loves writing would find something interesting to write about in any place, but some places are more inspiring than others.

The rush in railway stations and airports get a good observer to figure out some features of people. Some, even in a hurry or on the brink of missing their train or plane, keep cool and courteous and one REALLY feels like doing their best to help them. While others, you better don’t cross your path with.

Those you wouldn’t want to meet with are everyday people, of all ages, gender, working fields and cover couples, single mums, single dads, families. Whatever you do to help them because they arrived terribly late and don’t have what it takes to enable them to get on the plane or a train, they will shout at you. And the more you want to help, the less they cooperate. They don’t have the papers they need, they shout. They had no patience to get their boarding passes on the machines (very easy to use, believe me, everything is written on the screen. By the way, I will release a presentation called “how to use passenger-friendly machines”) they go to the helpdesk shouting. They haven’t paid for their luggage, they shout. And they don’t shout only at you but also at their children who, in turn start crying and they are right poor kids! But for politeness’ sake, if they don’t read what they buy is that helpdesk agents’ fault?? If they woke up late, hadn’t time for coffee and their car broke down, or the motorway was crowded, or the bus was late, or there are endless queues at the station or airport, IS THAT helpdesk agents’ fault?

Fortunately, there are the Lovely guys around. They arrive late, they are still lovely. They haven’t paid for their luggage and need to go and pay, they apologize and smile, and keep being lovely. They are going to miss their plane for a reason or another, they are so polite and adorable, you become a super-agent for them and do your best help them, ring the gate to ask for help and have them catch the plane; you even get them to the security queue knowing you are going to get really bad looks from those who’ve been waiting patiently for about an hour just to see a “privileged” jumping the queue. Even their kids are lovely and polite with angelic patience.

No need to ask you who you would prefer, right?

Adorable people stay adorable in the most critical situations.

Have a pleasant flight and keep being lovely 😉 we all LOVE adorable people.

Ms Lucky Fussy??Nah! Just different standards

Have you ever happened to be eating during a small break, while wearing a uniform clearly indicating you work for a neighbouring company? This has happened to Ms Lucky and she asked me if I was thinking she was a fussy person. And she’s not, trust me.

She started telling me how many times she was having a sandwich during a short break and a person totally disrespectful asked her questions while she was literally chewing her food. She looked at the person, helpless and obviously annoyed. The woman kept talking to her expecting a response. But Ms Lucky is really very patient. I think I would have simply ignored the woman and let her talk until she realized how ridiculous she looked. She swallowed the piece of her sandwhich and answered the question though.

I am wondering: what if we really lived in a world of appalling lack of consideration for the other? I would personally have no idea to bother a person while they are eating only because they wear a uniform. There must definitely be many other colleagues who are able to answer a question. Fussy? Nah, just different standards 😉

Dan

A Light Ticket for Me, Please

The Light Tickets

Light Tickets! For those who are not familiar with the term, it’s about a category of (airplane companies) tickets. Cheap tickets we all run after because yeah! saving time AND saving money at the same time is AWESOME! Yet! I say YET, becauuuuuse there is a detail most of buyers have not noticed or ignored thinking nobody would notice at the airport (ouch! Big mistake, guys!). This kind of ticket DOES NOT include luggage to check-in. None! Only a piece of hand-luggage (sizes to be checked on the company’s website!). Also, make sure your hand luggage has the RIGHT dimension.

And this is why some people get angry at the check-in desk, completely forgetting the ones who booked the tickets were themselves and not the check-in agent.

So, I thought it would be a good idea to have a thorough look at the information provided by the company, and in case there is no piece of luggage included, PLEASE buy this option for chf17 Online INSTEAD of 35 at the airport and BE HAPPY!

I wish you a very pleasant flight 😉

I couldn’t underline it more 😀

With Love,

Dan
